Plurk’s April Fools Prank

bitter

I was surprised to see a Plurk message mentioning that they’re shutting down their service. I can smell that “April Fool’s Prank” a mile away. I must admit that Twitter was way easier to use than Plurk. Celebs would rather use twitter coz it’s way easier to type in what they had for dinner and the color of their underwear. Nice try for April Fool’s Plurk!

Plurk to relaunch as Bitter

Dear Friends,

Lately, times have been tough at Plurk. Declining new user growth, a tough economic operating environment (clearly, it is impossible to compete in this space with any less than the portly sum of $55 million USD in VC funding garnered by supposed comparable entities) and severe cases of caffeine induced hysteria amongst rank and file A-Team members (bunch of no good, talentless hacks that they are) have all begun to take their toll on our most beloved service.

Although we have made a valiant attempt to create a truly game changing and unique social communication service here on the web this past year, and desired to push the envelope yet further in the coming months and years, ultimately, we have felt threatened and spooked, much like Facebook has in recent months, of the runaway success of social media darling Twitter. Clearly, the unending, and carefully orchestrated multi-million dollar media/PR blitz coupled with the incessant chatter of unworthy egos, and vacuous self-exhibitionists all vying to win the great ‘most followers’ arms race have done their job in leading millions of minions to this soul-sucking, and dehumanizing service.

Blog Feature – Dosh Dosh

dosh dosh

Few years ago when I was new at Make money online niche, I came across the dosh dosh blog. I remember reading the blog religiously and learning everything I need to know about monetizing sites online. What made this site unique is Maki’s clever use of icons with anime girls in it.

The dosh dosh got chockful of information every webmaster would find helpful in Make Money Online niche. Usually the tips he write about are the principles and philosophy in online marketing. For absolute newbies, they might be a little lost. Just dig deeper in previous articles that contains step by step guides.

The Controversy
Like every major blogs, Dosh Dosh has it’s own share of controversy. Few years ago the controversy erupted in the MMO blogosphere when Socialseo call out on Maki’s website for copying their content. While it can be disputed that it might be just a coincidence. Only the two them can settle that.

Shoemoney shows women how to pee standing up

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

shoemoney gogirlI was caught offguard when Shoemoney posted this really wacky entry. In case you guys are wondering just who shoemoney is, his claim to fame was getting that sweet 6 digit google adsense check. You can say he’s pretty much a celebrity in “make money online niche”.

On his t-shirt friday plug, he featured Go-girl.com. That’s a sanitary product that enables the female of the species to take a piss in standing position. As odd as that may sound, it may come in handy when you are in places where there’s no clean potty around or in the middle of wilderness.

I almost fell off the chair when one reader commented that some people used their dishwasher to clean their go-girl for re-use. Mmmkkkay…
