Disney Kiddie Camera surprise

Naughty-disney-camera

Who would have thought that an ordinary disney kiddie camera could contain images not suitable for kids. That’s what Andrew Graham had in mind when he bought the camera as last minute christmas gift for his son. They realized the naughty pictures when their son took few photos and showed them that there’s “unknown” girl in the memory card. In the future, they will make sure to screen the camera first before giving it to their kid.

What they didn’t realize was that the camera was repackaged and placed back on the shelf. So tyically Wal-mart.

“It’s pretty much x-rated. It’s not what you want to wake up on the christmas morning and have your 9 year old see,” said Andrew Graham while chuckling.

OnLive – The PS3, XBOX and WII killer?

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

onlive console

As Ps3, XBOX and Wii wrestles for the console gaming domination, her comes a new pint size contender. Palo Alto introduces Onlive gaming service. With the use of their small device almost the size of nintendo DS, you can plug in to your broadband and tv. Then, you’re ready to play any game you want available in their online catalog. No need to buy DVD or Blu ray discs that will clutter your home. The games can also be played on any platform from windows to mac and even the small netbook.

Unfortunately, the quality of the game depends on your broadband connection. Sudden internet hiccups can ruin your gameplay, it’s just as bad as coitus interruptus. No word how much the device cost and their subscription service would be. Just watch out for it.

OnLive also includes some features you might associate more with your DVR than with a gaming console, including a Replay feature that lets you save the last ten seconds of your gameplay, and send it to your friends.

PC gamers aren’t left out, either: OnLive’s service can be accessed with a browser plugin from either Mac or PC platforms, works identically to the TV version, and has hardware requirements so low you’ll be able, the company boasts, to play the most advanced of games on a $300 netbook.

OnLive has already signed deals with an impressive range of partners — including EA, Take-Two, and Ubisoft — and promises to have an up-to-the-minute selection of games when the service launches. Along with Burnout and Crysis, we spotted Grand Theft Auto IV, LEGO Batman, and Mirror’s Edge among the games on offer, although the lineup will likely change before the service launches.

Space Photography with only $80 camera and latex balloons

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

balloon camera

The Meoteotik team at IES La Bisbal school in Catalonia is comprised of four students namely Gerard Marull Paretas, Sergi Saballs Vila, Marta Gasull Morcillo and Jaume Puigmiquel Casamort. The Four students under the guidance of their teacher Jordi Fanals Oriol has achieved what seems to be impossible. They managed to take photos of the Earth’s Stratosphere with a $80 Nikon camera suspended on two latex balloons with electronic sensors.

To make the project possible, they used latex balloons filled with helium enough to carry the camera and sensors. They only expected the balloon to go up to 30,000ft, they were surprised that the balloon exceeded the expected altitude. They tracked the balloon’s location with the help of Google Earth and the radio receiver. Finally the balloon went down after exceeding 100,000ft. To their luck, the sensors and memory card was still working when they found it after 10km drive.

Come to think of it, just imagine how much money NASA spent to accomplish that feat. Nobody should try messing with the balloon or you might find yourself on the earth’s stratosphere.

John Mayer got dumped for being such a “Twit”

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

jennifer dumps john meyer

I’m not really a fan of John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston but I find the nature of their break-up rather interesting. It was reported that they broke up over his twitter obssession. There’s no official news about the said breakup. Anyway I checked out John Mayer’s Twitter and he’s pretty active in twittering.

Can’t blame Twitter for being so damn addicting compared to banging Jennifer Aniston. Maybe the guy’s looking for an easy way out instead of coming up with creative excuses that he’s tired of banging her and in the market for some fresh lay.

John Mayer’s Twitter: http://twitter.com/johncmayer

People claiming to be friends of the actress have told Star magazine that she finished the affair after discovering Mayer, 31, spent hours on the networking website, despite telling her he was too busy to get in touch with her.
The pair started dating in April 2008, but have broken up several times. However, they appeared inseparable at the Oscars last month.

A source claimed Aniston decided Mayer was not committed enough to her and called time on their romance having found hourly updates on his Twitter page.
The source said: “John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he’d say: ‘I’ve been so busy with work. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to call you back.”

Even so, shortly after Aniston’s call, Mayer’s Twitter update read: ‘This heart didn’t come with instructions.’

Asus Airo – An Origami Folding Laptop

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

asus-airo

Looks like Asus got fed up of releasing gazillions of cumbersome Asus Eeepc models. They finally decided to come up with a totally different model. Check out the Asus Airo, the origami inspired folding laptop. It’s sliding keyboard enables ventilations to the laptop. To make this even more tempting, the price is much more affordable compared to other ultra-slim laptop such as Macbook Air and Dell’s Adamo. The estimated price range of Asus Airo is between $1,000 and $1,500. The target date for commercial release would be at September and October. No word about the specs, but I’ll post it up soon.

Asus Airo Concept Video

Despite it’s ergonomic design, it looks delicate enough to make you wonder it’s longevity. I hate to imagine accidentally dropping this and scatters into gazillion pieces.
